Howard D. Neal



Howard D. Neal is a member of the California and District of Columbia bars and has practiced law since 1973, emphasizing business law, wills, trusts, real estate, bankruptcy and computer law. He has had his own law office in the Montclair Village district of the Oakland hills since 1986, previously practicing with Landels, Ripley & Diamond in San Francisco, and Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Neal has been a member of the American Bar Association and its Committee on Law Relating to Computers, Science and Technology and the Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law since 1978. He is a past chair of the Trust Committee of the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Section of the Alameda County Bar Association. He is a frequent speaker on estate planning and the pros and cons of use of living trusts to avoid probate. His articles have been published in the SF/LA Daily Journal, ABA Legal Economics, Legal Automation News, and the Computer Law Journal.

Mr. Neal received his law degree from Boalt Hall at U.C. Berkeley and his undergraduate degree in political science from Stanford University. He holds an (av) rating in the Martindale Hubbell legal directory.
